FDG pays special attention to projects that contribute to one or more of the following specific objectives:

  • Enhance the parental experience and the educational role of parents, both mothers and fathers, and encourage them to contribute to projects designed to improve children’s well-being and protect their fundamental rights.
  • Encourage participation by those aged 12 to 17 in projects designed for them, promoting their sense of responsibility as citizens and their social involvement in their own communities.
  • Support the expertise of partner organizations working with families in specific neighbourhoods or focusing on specific areas in order to optimize the use of resources provided by FDG in improving the well-being of children and their families.
  • Give priority to neighbourhoods with scant resources and those in which families with children are particularly isolated and vulnerable, or have to cope with gaps in services normally provided by government.

NOTE: We receive a growing number of requests and our capacity to support organizations and their projects is limited. In order to create a dynamic of proximity between organizations, the Foundation has targeted over the years, a certain number of neighborhoods in Montreal, Quebec City and Charlevoix to concentrate its donations.
