"By enacting the Act to Combat Poverty and Social Exclusion in 2002, which was passed unanimously by the National Assembly and accompanied by a national strategy and action plans, the Quebec government sought to mobilize the whole of Quebec society around this objective. We are Quebec philanthropic foundations committed to this goal, each in our own way.
As you will see from reading this brief, the issue of inequality, as well as poverty and social exclusion, are at the heart of our concerns. These issues are interrelated. That's why we've chosen to include, within our recommendations, actions that can reduce poverty and exclusion that could also have an impact on reducing social inequalities in Quebec."
